'Reelsport' a 40 foot Cairns Custom craft was designed and built to fish n dive the Great Barrier Reef with a impressive range of electronic equipment for fish finding and safety her spacious teak rear deck and comfortable interior you would think that you were on a much larger vessel.
Launched in October 2000 Reelsport is powered by a pair of 330 HP Cummins Engines, A 5.5kva Onan Gen set supplies the 240-volt electricity to the Accommodation and fully equipped Galley.
Onboard there are separate shower and toilet facilities, TV with DVD player, stereo, microwave oven and most the things you would expect to find in a luxury cabin in a holiday resort. Although the galley has a stove we prefer to do most of the cooking outside on the stainless steel marine bar-b-q.
The owner operators of Awesome Game & Reef Fishing Charters, Skipper Mick Espe and Dive Master/Ships Mate Jeff Fussell have between them spent over 20 years in the professional fishing and diving industry. Most of this time was in Australia's tropical north.
Both were raised by the coast and as teenagers went fishing or spear fishing most weekends and many afternoons. As time went by more challenges were sort and other forms of fishing were pursued, (game, deep sea and coral). Therefore it was only evolution that their love of fishing and diving would lead to operating a charter boat on the Great Barrier Reef.
